Anyone remember them adventure books (space, wizards and magic, etc) where it was you as the main character would have to make a decision at the end of a page, such as:
'If you decide to talk to this cloaked old wizened man, go to page 54
If you decide to kick the bejaysus out of him go to page 99"

You go to page 99 (obviously) and then it says "You go to kick the old man square in the family jewels and he throws off his cloak and turns out to be a Level 68 Wizard who fries your sorry ass. Your adventure is over.

Some of the books had puzzles to solve, and you needed a piece of paper, dice and a pencil.

Some were quite difficult and if you were like me, a cheating baxterd, you would go back to the previous page if killed.

Oh yeah, I remember those. I was useless at them and usually ended up being trapped in an Egyptian tomb for all eternity or drowning me and my mates in a swamp :D

At one stage, the library in town bought in a load of them much to the delight of any of us who were 10 or 11 at the time. I think too that at one stage you could buy them or get them free with tokens off one of the breakfast cereals.
