After some time trying to contact paypal and trying to fax them proof of postage for a returned item, I managed to a couple of days ago.

I have just had a reply and conclusion, as far as paypal are concerned...

"The tracking information you provided was invalid and we were unable to
confirm delivery of the item associated with this claim. As a result, the
case is now considered closed and we are unable to process a refund.

We encourage you to work directly with the seller to find a resolution.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Protection Services Department"

    HOW FACKING DARE THEY!!!!! :mad::mad:

I have had confirmation from AN POST that this item has been returned and signed for and I emailed that confirmation to paypal, yet they still say it's invalid proof of postage!!!

    What to do next???

If you have a tracking number which shows the item was delivered to the seller there won't be a problem, if however the tracking doesn't show delivery it gets a little trickier.

If you have proof from An Post that the item was delivered you will need to get that in writing from them (hard copy, not email) and fax it to PayPal again to appeal the claim decision.

Trust me, I know how annoyed you are...

Once Paypal close a claim can it be re-opened? I thought that once closed (settled or not) they won't look at it any further. They're obviously not accepting your proof of delivery so I'd go outside Paypal. Does the tracking number work on the website and show the item delivered? I had to return an item once and Paypal never asked for faxed proof, they accepted the tracking number alone. Though in my case the seller didn't contest anything and replied to the dispute when the item returned to him.

I guess this was something you bought and returned to the seller for some reason and the seller isn't refunding you. If Paypal won't do anything more then contact your credit card company, if you funded the sale with a card, and see what they can do. If the sale was from Paypal balance then you'll have to keep at them, if you can.

Yeah, decisions can be appealed in some cases. But you would have to have valid grounds for appeal and in this case proof the item was returned to the seller.

If you can't show the item has been returned to the seller then there's not much that can be done really.

Finally got my money back a couple of weeks ago. But boy did I have to keep at them. :)
