It's a long shot... try Chorus?

I remember quite a few years ago now we got Chorus Analogue MMDS at home, then decided to chuck it and get sky when we realised how horrendously bad it was. The Chorus installers never arrived to remove the equipment, so our satellite installer simply removed it from the chimney.

I took great satisfaction in arriving at Chorus' Cork office and handing them the antenna + a pair of set top boxes directly over the counter and demanding a receipt ...

    They weren't impressed!

Unless it is bought from a shop and NOT for MMDS, (i.e. local self help WiFi).

The MMDS ones belong to Chorus /UPC/NTL. If you subscribe they fit one. If you don't subscribe and receive MMDS you could be breaking the law.

There are a few places that sell them for legitimate uses such as WiFi or licenced Security links.

Its easy to obtain MMDS aerials nowadays as Chorus no longer collect or disconnect any equipment from cancelled accounts.

They do in Donegal, though that's because the signal is analogue and unencrypted. Mind you, picture quality is poor anyway.

I never knew it was unencrypted in Donegal...lol no wonder the company has so many problems..

You only have to look out your window to solve this problem.in most cases where you see a chorus aerial and a sky dish on a house, rest assured the aerial is not in use.another idea is to stop one of the usp vans and ask one of the lads.A tip goes a long way.Time served in multichannel days.most of the lads are contracted to chorus and would love a few bob on the side.

    The aerials belong to Chorus.

Taking MMDS is regarded as "tapping cable TV" so you can be prosecuted for Theft of service and for stealing the MMDS aerial.

    Mostly they do collect them.

Get a FTA Satellite Dish system.
