anyone know of anywhere actually selling this phone yet?

    i'm talking sim free.

i know expansys have it up but it's still pre-order only with no mention of a release date.

It's a horrible phone! It seemed great to me but when I got a chance to actually try one out I was stunned by the cheap feel to the keypad and just the horrible feel to it in general. I'd suggest you try and get your hands on one to try first before you splash out the cash.

I upgraded my k800i to k810i instead, not a huge difference but I couldn't go for ther k850i as I just don't like it.

Just some thoughts should they prove useful ...

I was told that it should be out on O2 in November

it's on amazon.co.uk for about €500 so should be on expansys and other sites soon.

carphone warehouse told me 2 weeks ago that they wouldn't have it until after christmas (slim possibility some stores would have it before)

Am waiting on it myself and was gonna buy it "unfelt", but ciaraninfo's comments suggest I'll be waiting a little while longer to see what it's like.

Have to agree with the above poster. The k850 is a huge mis-step for SE, you'd be better off staying with the k800/810.

Design quirks aside (no proximity sensor for touch sensitive buttons!!), I find it hard to justify the large price tag. I was expecting GPS or wifi before this phone was announced, both features that are becoming more commonplace in top of the range phones.

How would you say it compares to a K750i, my current phone?

I'd spend money on a k750i before a k850i at the moment, but I'd never go back to a k750i - if that makes any sense. If I was you I'd go for the W810i/k800i/k810i

it's on expansys now - €614 + delivery. Much too expensive.

(and the price on amazon has gone back up to about 560)

    A bit off topic:-

I would recommend getting your phone in carphonewarehouse, as when I got my K750i there it was unlocked and had no branding on it
