i'm going to start out by saying... consider how upset you may end up if your device ends up bricked (i.e. dead)... if you haven't done any of the things you are looking to do before then be aware of the potential outcome... you could very well end up a bricked one... deciding to go ahead is your sole responsibility and risk...

taking high tech gadgets apart is not for the faint hearted / unskilled and will void your warranty... if you haven't done anything like this before then disassembling your current mobile shouldn't really be your first...

to see what is involved there are several disassembly guides online... as ever google and you tube are good places to start e.g.
    http://www.formymobile.co.uk/Dismantle/k800disassembly.htm

as regards messing around with the firmware etc... again voiding the warranty of your handset (if you don't solely use the official SE online updater or go to an authorised SE service centre)... if you have never done this, again be aware how easy it is to brick your phone... esato.com is one of the best SE forum sites so search/ask about there if you still want to try... bearing in mind some of the feedback from people who have...
