A4 BW Photo Printer

    Any recommendations for a A4 BW Photo Printer, The Epson R800 has had good revievs for colour with most people recommending the R2400 for BW but ist a we bit expensive

    any thoughts

    If you intend to only use the printer for BW, you could use any printer compatible with the Lyson Quad black cartridges.
    www.marrutt.com have a list of all the printers for which you can get these cartridges. Please note that you won't be able to print in color with that printer unless you clean the heads and replace the cartridges.

    would like to do some colour printing but this might be worth a go if the results were good.

    Have you used Lyson Quad black cartridges yourself?

    If its for a dedicated B&W printer only then I know Hp do a special photo cartridge with three seperate gray inks to give a larger spectrum than black and composite colour.

    Not sure how readily available these are in retail shops.

    I work for Hp so I do not want to influence you any further. I'm unsure of what other competitors have so make sure to shop around.

    I haven't as I need the printer for colour prints as well.
