Got my AUG today in the post! Did not come with a battery or a charger which
is a first for me even though there
was some paper in with it saying 8.4v hyper command exclusive battery
showing you how to charge it.

Anyway I found it very cool indeed when I looked at the cover of the
instruction manual only to find an image of Irish FCA/RDF in it.
Take a look defo Irish reserves (before they switched to DPM uniforms)

Oh it is the reserves alright, can't make out the insignia to narrow it down... my CA Aug box was a blue colour and didn't have any of that on it. That's kind of cool.

:edit:Oh wait I see now it's the manual.

Oh and the high end stuff rarely if ever ship with a battery and charger.

I think its the 14th infantry battalion, but I'm not sure.

Scanned the image from the Manual that came with the AEG
(The AEG itself came from Shiva/eirsoft.ie)

Dunno what they mean by hyper command. I also have the CA Aug A1(FIRST EVER TOP GUN AWARD FROM AI!) and I use intellect 8.4 1400mahs and they work perfectly.

22nd Infantry battalion, based in Limerick.Though the insignia has changed due to a foreign diplomat quering the choice of colours. The new one is round in blue and yellow. And as you can see this is an old photo as that is the old issue gear, the new bdu now the same as the PDF.Hope this helps:D.

The lads who took it/are in the pic reckon its the 14th and the 22nd were Clare based, 14th were Limerick/Tipp. All the 32nd Bn now. Now what colour is the boat house in Sarsfield? :D

My initial thoughts were 14th Inf Limerick based as the flash looked familiar.
Was in the 3rd Fld sigs myself for 6-7 years. Gone from the reserves
years now so dunno what way things got restructured.

http://www.irishmilitaryinsignia.com/ has all the flashes past and present and what units became what.

22nd flash looks notihng like that one in the pic (nor did it ever AFAIK) its round and blue as du_beton says but its gone now in favour of the 32 Bn one.

Jaysus, how did some fella over in Hong Kong come across a picture of some FCA heads and then thought about using it for the booklet cover, no offence intended (I was in the FCA/reserves for a few years) but.....they could have got a more emm....professional picture? Like it actually in combat use?

Keep meaning to get me one of them AUG's to relieve my old square bashing days, TAAAAIRGIG AIRM!!! *H'AON...... DÓ, TRI........H'AON* :D

should look familiar, A Coy was based in Ennis, B Coy based in Ennistymon/Lahinch, C Coy were based in Lim and D Coy were based in Kilrush. All made up the 22nd before the restructure took place. The main weapons training took place in Sarsfield Barracks in Limerick and camps included all the companys and mainly took place in Lahinch, Co. Clare so this flash would have been a very familiar sight aroud Lim until it was changed just before the restructuring took place.

looking at the old flash in the picture there are only seven units it could be.
13th, 14th and 15th Bns. from the Southern Command and 16th, 17th, 18th and 25th Bns. from the Western Command.
looking at the picture even though its blurred the odds are its the 13th.

It is on his old web page about the unit so they must have robbed it randomly off the internet.
