Sky Hd Questions?

I am currently on Standard digiboxes(3). Under domestic pressure to go for Sky plus as the missus finds it difficult to tape using the dvd recorder:mad:

Was thinking of going straight to HD box rather than getting Sky plus. Based on that have a couple of questions.

1)Does it have two scarts as well as HDMI slot?

2)Can you use the box just for normal reception without activating a HD sub straight away? i.e. will Sky let u do this?

3)Does it generally work as a standard Sky Plus box apart from the HD.

4)Will you get the BBC HD channel without the sub?

    Appreciate any feedback, many thanks

Sorry John Mac, 1. also just please clarify, no phone connection needed and you didn't get any grief from sky when activating the box such as saying u shud really get a HD sub etc....?? 2. When u activated the box did you have to specify it was Sky plus etc or just give them the serial no etc and it automatically activated all the sky plus functions?? sorry for questions just want to be sure before I shell out my few hundred !!

Thats right no phone connection required,
she just asked for the serial no of the box my phone number
she also asked me if i wanted the hd sub
i said no not enough choice yet( i dont have sports or movies) That was fine.

I waited on the line and she activated the plus function straight away.
Whole process took about 4 mins.
    :D

just one other thing -- does the Sky HD remote also work the standard sky digibox? I am hoping it doesnt because then the problem of changing channels on both sky boxes at the same time will disappear...:D

No, it won't work the standard Sky box, so you'll be fine.
