Cartoons on rte.

    Anyone remember those cartoons rte used to show in the 80s?I think a lot of them were from czechoslovakia and places like that.They used to repeat them a lot like the one with the elephant who used his trunk as a trumpet.And the one about a family of opera singers.There were some really weird ones.And what about butterfly hall with the frog singing,they showed that loads of times.

    Yep, there's been a couple of discussions on those cartoons on the All Things Retro forum. They were bloody weird indeed. That frog one was The Butterfly Ball. And the elephant was called Hamilton.

    Thats right i remember now.One of the strangest ones of all featured a plasticine animated clown who couldent remove his makeup and the shame drove him to hang himself.Only saw it once but never forgot it.

    All I can say is thank god i cannot remember the 80s... (i'm nearly 22, so i was 4 when the decade ended)

    Twas grim all right, but interesting to look back on now. No I'm glad I was there for it as a small child (11 when the decade ended). Not great if you were a young adult though.
