  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,629 ✭✭✭NullZer0

    Oh yeah,

Does anyone know if it will be available on the launch day, or even the next day at any O2 or 3 stores in Dublin?

I'm not happy with the delivery turn around even if I did order from apple, woulsd be nice if they provided a faster option.

    Well, its a long one...

I had my Touch pre-ordered right... and then I bought it in CompuB, so I went online to cancel the order.. fine. Cancel order, basket empty, great. Log back in... baskey not empty, odd. Try again, Cancel order, success, great. Log back in ... no success, grrrrr.

Ring Apple. "No problem, I will cancel it now for you". Great.

Few days later - email from Apple "your item has been prepared for shipping" errrr hello.

Ring Apple give out. "Very sorry miss we will sort that right away". Great.

Few days later - email from Apple "Your item has been shipped" - ffs

Ring Apple, not a happy camper, give out. "No problem, we will get the driver to bring it back and refund your card.

Come home from hospital to find... iPod Touch has been delivered to my house. AAHAHAHAHA.

Ring Apple. Livid "Oh very sorry, we will issue a return and have TNT collect it and refund your card". Ok, fine, ill take that option.

... ... ... 3 weeks later... ... ... I still have my f'ing Touch. Rang Apple loads of times "just on to the courier he will be with you by the end of the day" *waits* nothing. Ring Apple asking to speak to someone about a complaint... "sorry, we dont have a dedicated complaints line" me:"who can I take to then" apple:"your complain has been logged with this call" me:"urgh!!". Frustrated, ends the call to India which is costing me as much as he second shrink wrapped Touch which has been charged to my VISA.

Rang VISA - rudely told not their problem and that I'm stuck with it. Grrrrrrrrr ffs. LIVID.

How long will it be before the shop in Dublin will have machines with leopard on them? I want to buy a Macbook (My first Mac) but I'd much rather wait for 10.5.

Excellent. I'm in New York the week after so I'll pick it up there. 90euro as opposed to 129. Crazy.

I'm going to wait till I upgrade the RAM on my MB before updating the OS. I presume I will need to buy two licenses for both my MB and iMac? Do Apple have any prevention to check against this?

Also, I wonder does this mean that Safari and Bootcamp are to come out of Beta if they're being released as part of Leopard?

Nope and nope. I theory you need one for each. In practice, no.

The official sellers had them in stock on the launch day for 10.4 so there's no reason to think they won't this time around.
The unit's (desktop's & laptops) they have in store on the day won't have 10.5 as they will have been built / assembled before 26/10 but Apple usually offer some sort of upgrade deal if you buy you Apple within a certain timescale.

This info could be incorrect and I am open to correction, but I am going from past experience working as a reseller.

    SWWWWWEEEEEEETTTT!
Ordered two iMacs on Thursday for work but wasn't fussed about Leopard being on them (would prefer Tiger because of the whole work environment thing). This is handy, I'll get work to pay for my personal upgrade on my macbook. :)

It's probably going to be the upgrade-only version of the DVD and not the full retail version, like Apple has done on previous releases.

Ahhh its a dying thread anyway, "apple store being down" is old news at this stage, and there is a new "hip" place to talk about all things Leopard now, so I'm not going to give out this time. I'm a very reasonable dicta...mod don't you know.
