I thought about sticking this up in the food forum, but I am sure the REAL experts will be here....

Where is the best place in Ireland for yummy sticky BBQ ribs?

    Your local Chinese?
    American themed restaurant?

You're dead right, but you'll have to wait, it's breakfast time.
Around here that goes on for a while.
Come back about 11:30 and bring something for the tea break with you.

The best ribs are in this place: http://www.chilis.uk.com/menu/chilis_grill.html
which I loved when I lived in the US.

Unfortunately, our nearest is in Canary Wharf, which I must admit, I have travelled to simply because of their ribs. (Ok, so I was "bringing" Mrs. Dunne on a "shopping" trip and we "conveniently" ended up staying near the restaurant.)

I used to eat in Tony Roma's in Singapore. Got a slab of ribs like those from The Flinstones. :D They have opened in Belfast since but I haven't made it there yet.

Smashey, if you were a beuatiful woman & I weren't already married - I would run away with you (not too far coz I have a bad knee)

You have made me soooooo happy. I had Tony Romas in Vegas a while back but the good news is I will be in Belfast in a couple of weeks time. Let's just hope our Northern cousins can live up to the Tony Romas experience.

    WHOO HOO indeed.

Oh yes! Also let the juices trickle down your chin so as to enhance your natural meaty stench. ;)

No quite a local for most BG&RH'ers, but this place does the biggest muthsfcukin' ribs you have ever seen.

Check out The County Line Smokehouse & Grill & AirRibs.com.

You'd better believe it. And you should see it in the flesh (pun intended).
I had a Medium Meat Platter (not on the current menu) when I was there (didn't want to appear too greedy in front of my work colleagues by going for the Large option).

The Medium was stated on the menu to consist of:
3 slices of beef (I think: 3 slices of roast beef or similar).
Spicy sausage (I think: a few slices of salami or similar).
Beef ribs (I think: 2 or 3 ribs a bit bigger than the usual pork ribs).
Side Salad (I think: lettuce garnish & a spoonful of coleslaw on the edge of the plate).

    What I got was:
    3 8oz sirloin steaks.
A whole fcuking salami twice the size of Ron Jeremy's schlong.
Ribs that would have totally crushed Fred Flintstones car - they stretched from one side of a very large oval plate to the other - completely covering the 3 steaks & the salami.
A bucket (yes, a bucket) of beans & another bucket (yes, another bucket) of coleslaw. Not a gee-hairs' worth of lettuce to be seen!

What I also got was the meat shíts for a week. :o

Fitzers, on a friday night. That's if I'm not slumming it in Dalkey:D

The only reason I don;t go to the Eagle house is that I would have to wak past the Charles Fitzgerald and I see no reason why I should walk past a perfectly decent drinking establishment:)

I hear there is a good Indian above the Eage house hough, so I may have to stretch the legs a bit and get down there.

Aye but have you checked out the new beer garden in the eagle? Top top quality. It's up on the roof of it and has it's own bar up there with sh1t loads of gas heaters so no fear of the cold. Would reccomend it if you're passing by. Only one thing. You have to wear a shirt in order to drink up there. Designed for the Dalkey and Sandycove folk Yanowaimean ;)

Any mention of "debone" in any context is likely to get you a ban around here. :o

Nearly died from sheer overeating when I visited this place in New York

    http://www.smokeybones.com/

    Unbelieveable ribs, and humongous portions.

Was practically rolled out of the place to the car....
