Eternal Sunshine was fantastic, Science of Sleep was ironically a cure for insomnia.

Here's hoping the next one is a return to form

Ah more support for the Gondry man, one of my favourite directors of the moment. Loved Eternal Sunshine (probably my favourite film ever) and Science of Sleep was fantastic (as was Dave Chapelles Block Party come to think of it) Hopefully this will be a good 'un - be interesting to see him tackle a more mainstream Hollywood film. But I have hope in the man.

Er, pardon me but that guy from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy can't act for lunch money -although I'm sure he somehow makes more than that. He was totally bland and uncharismatic in that movie and to be honest I'm surprised he got another crack at it. Maybe he was in other stuff where his transparancy went unnoticed, but to my mind he completely ruined the small chance that film had to succeed.

Michel Gondry appears to have some spark, but it seems to me he is being held back from actually _doing_ anything really good by the weight of his own unrequited reputation. I hope he does one day realise whatever potential he has, but for now he owns the world of sly grins from college kids and little else.

Eternal Sunshine was worthwhile and clever and daring and creative, but for me it just didn't gel as a film. Of course he's not making movies "for me" and that's ok too, but I'm sure he could do something worthwhile if people didn't pat his back so much for mediocrity (albeit his own brand of it).

I heart Michael Gondry. Eternal Sunshine gets me every time I see it, I cry like a little girl whose been stood up for her prom.

Be Kind Rewind looks fantastic. The trailer is one of the best that I've seen in a long time, though it does fall into the recent trailer trend of showing too much.

You mean Mos Def? He actually suprised me considerably in that film. You should check him out in The Woodsman, he was quite good in that film, I thought.

Looks good (and I can't stand Jack Black..)

I've been looking forward to the new Charlie Kaufman film too:

And he was fantastic in 16 Blocks too. Can't really see how anyone would find him bland.

I've actually never seen any of Gondry's films. I've seen his short films and his music videos and that's it. I'll have to give them a gander.
