    Movember

A few people in work are thinking about taking part. Sounds like fun, but I not sure if I will. Definitly wouldn't suit me..... would look way too sleazy

Is anything like this done in Ireland? First time I have heard of it.
Movember - Changing the face of Men's Health
Movember (the month formally known as November) is a charity event held during November each year.

At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face. The Movember participants known as Mo Bros then have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustache and along the way raise as much money and awareness about male health issues as possible.

If I do it, then it will a full beard or a goatee. No 'mo' for me.

Was in Australia last year for 'Movember' and it was class.. It looked so sleazy seeing 3 or 4 lads in fancy suits with sleazy mo's hanging round bars. I was actually in the middle of a beard growing process at the time so i couldn't participate.
The Pornstarhandlebars were the Mo of choice for a lot of participants. In Australia this was also called a 'Milat', after Ivan Milat. He was an Australian serial killer who murdered a number of Backpackers and was also a fan of growing mo's. Just do a google images search and you'll see what i mean..

Just out of our management meeting. First topic of conversation was Movember.
They want to get all male staff from the four bars to take part. It is for charity after all.

No beards or goaties allowed :/ There goes my plan.

I'm gonna look very very sleazy with a mo.

Better have fun over the next 2 weeks, 'cos I won't be getting any lovin' until it gets shaved off :(

Due to an unfortunate affliction (gingervitis), I am unable to rapidly grow facial hair.
As such, I will not be taking part.

We have managed to get a good few of our corporate regulars to do it. Nice few sign ups so far.
We have a few big functions on the this months, we're all gonna look really sleazy.
    Feck it, it's for charity.

What part of NZ are you in Brazilia?

Mount Maunganui - it's kind of a suburb of Tauranga, if you know it. I spent winter in Wellington (bad idea) and moved up here in September. Awesome place. Where are you?

That is the plan. New pictures will be taken at each Mo Bro meeting.
The girl I'm seeing now has said not to expect much until the Mo is gone.... I hope she was joking :/

I'm already in the process of growing a new kick ass bready type thing and can't clean shave as it will ruin months of preparation and research.

Yeah It's a good idea, I've only seen it in Oz/Nz, be nice to bring it over here. You can draw some inspiration from these guys...http://www.worldbeardchampionships.com/

You'd have to be a fast grower though ;)

    Its finally over.

I shaved on the nov 1st. 4 days later I just had my mo and strong growth.

Then came the bombshell. My g/f said I'm getting no lovin' for the month. I think she was joking, but could be sure, so I went with the beard option. Just shaved my cheeks dow to my jaw line and under my neck.

For the final week I was pestered by senior management so get rid of the beard and go for the mo. They all did, so I had to :(

Decided to go for extra long handle bars. They ran from almost the corner of my jaw, up the side of my chin and joined with the mo. I kept a little bit of hair under my bottom lip.

Woke up this morning and shaved the monster off.

After all that, now my g/f wants me to go back to the beard. Even though she wasn't a huge fan of it at the begining. Women!!!!! :D

Hey there was some fellas on the news a few days ago talking about this while sitting around drinking pints in a freezing beer garden pretending not to notice the cameras during the linky bits. They kinda seemed like boardsies* Anybody from here?

*I dunno either, they just did
