Bus Route Licensing

The Bus Route Licensing Section of the Department of Transport is responsible for the licensing of passenger transport services by private bus operators, in accordance with National and European legislation and regulatory requirements. The Section is also responsible for formally noting new or amended bus services by Bus Éireann and Bus Átha Cliath. All National legislation and regulation regarding passenger road transport can be viewed on www.irishstatutebook.ie.

Looks like an improvement

Applicants have to show they can provide a service
Licenses have to be renewed
And hopefully a move to disability accessible buses for all operators

Will these rules apply to those already in possession of a license.

or are we shutting the door after the horse has bolted
