The Worst Has Happened!

About an hour ago I was playing my ds and noticed that the R button wasn't working too well. I had to really press it for it to work, so I flipped it around to have a look and sure enough the hinge is completely cracked and the screen looks like it's almost falling out (Check the pics). I could have sworn it wasn't like this this morning and it hasn't been dropped or anything.

I heard about this a long time ago, that it was common on the first lites to be released. This was one of them, I bought it when it came out first and thought that if it hadn't happened untill now then it wouldn't happen at all, but I was wrong :(

Has this happened to anyone else? What can I do with it? Will ninetendo still fix it, even though it's quite old (plus it's flashed :( )

    Advice please!

    Lame, dude!

DS's have a 2 year guarantee so I'm pretty sure Ninty will cover ya!

My R button is really annoying in that it needs a good press to register too, hope this isn't whats in store :(

You should have cleaned your DS before taking those pics! I'm just after eating thank you very much.

the cracked hinge problem was a small hinge fracture caused by opening the ds too far ,
this looks like u tried to DIY repair your R button but the screwdriver slipped:p

So I just got around to emailing nintendo this morning and they sent me an email saying they'll fix it if I send it to them.

I doesn't look like they'll fix it now though. I just picked it up and opened it (Slowly) and this happened:

Nope, I never went near (the hinge) with a screwdriver or anything like that.

I think I'll try some glue on it later and see what happens. It can't really get worse anyway.
