There's a SCUMM emulator that will allow you to play all the old lucas arts point and click games as well as any others that used the SCUMM engine on an XP machine. Get it from here:

The link you gave is from the 4th game in the series and should play with no problems on xp but i have a feeling your probably looking for the older games in the series which are hard to find in the shops/internet these days but ebay prolly has tonnes of em

I'd echo what Retr0gamer says - using ScummVM - you can easily be guarenteed to be able to play the earlier games and the later ones should not pose any problems. Good luck! :)

The first two games are masterpieces. The third one was pretty poor and I never bothered with the 4th one.

As great as the games are.. they don't feature nearly enough monkeys despite having the word monkey in the title...

Ok still need help here.. I downloaded that scummvm thingy and everything seemed to be going ok until I actully get to the first part of the game where he is in the hold with the little salor and the cannon.. he can move about and stuff but then after a short time it either freezes or the sound goes funny. I went back to scummvm and where it said "add game" scrolled to lucas art but got an error message saying scumm could not find game. sorry for being so dim but its fusterating me now..

sounds like monkey 3 you have there, i do recall having some sort of problems myself getting it to run smoothly. One possible solution i think is to copy the contents of the cds' onto your computer and pointing scummvm towards the folder. i know that you can certainly play the game this way but i don't know whether itll help your case or not

Check that you have the files copied over to harddisk...

this is the directory structure I have myself... sorry I haven't tried it in ages - but it's just after 3am - may try tomorrow.

Just out of interest did you try installing it without scummVM? A menu should pop up after inserting the cd. Not sure how vista would treat it (if thats what you have).

Monkey 3 poor?!? Wash out that mouth sir! Ok the 4th one was bollocks but the 3rd one is my all time favourate game. You probably will have some trouble with Monkey 3 if you have certain types of sound cards. On the other hand I've had no trouble playing any of them. (I run xp on a pretty awful dell)
