What happens when it gets to 4GB does it give an error? If so what does the error say?

    Are the rar files corrupt?

I often extract files that are bigger than 4GB but I have the full version. If your file system is fat32 then you won't be able to create files over 4GBs so I was thinking that would be the problem.

Your external is most likely fat32. Go into my computer and right click on the drive and click properties. What does it say after file system? Do this for all the drive under Hard disk drives and post them up here.

Do the same for the hard drive on your computer.

Copy all the files to the drive that is ntfs and extract them there. You should have no problems.

Yep the problem is the fat32 drive can't accept files over 4GBs. The ntfs drive can.
