Hello ,can someone tell me if it's bad practice to download on wifi a lot.

I was worried the wifi would overheat ,can't seem to find anything about any problems yet.
I just downloaded 3GB ,I'm not sure if thats putting too much weight on the machine ?

Don't see how it would be any different to downloading on a laptop through wifi.

Well the laptop wifi card gets extremely hot the further I'm away from the router.

I plan on sticking a cable into the machine at some stage ,but the wifi is handy for the moment.

    Thanks.

Em..wth? Did you leave the card on and move it gradually away from the wifi router to test this?

It's common for wifi recievers to use more power when the signal is weak.
I'm not here to talk about my laptop though ,I asked a question about the ps3.

If you don't know anything about it ,don't bother been smart.

it's a bit like buying a hammer and asking is bannging nails everyday bad for the hammer.

a network card is designed to move data, so no using it *too* much is not bad.

Sorry, I had to. It just sounded like a weird question. I mean Sony wouldn't put it in the console and than say "If you play online using the wireless adapter you can only use it for X hours a day or it will overheat and damage your console" That wouldn't be safe for the public.
