Now here's a show that needs a good debate on these here boards.:D

Without being too negative do you think its a pile of crap or do you think hats of to TV3 for giving us some live Irish television at that hour of the morning even if it looks like its run on a shoestring.

Do you think Ireland AM is good Breakfast Television? 11 votes

can't stand that Mark Cagney, he's one smug git.

he was always putting Claire Byrne down, when she was co-presenter.

No. Ireland AM is clearly a cheap way for TV3 to meet it's quota on home made programming. It is terrible television.

I concur entirely with Mossy Monk. It seems to be very cheaply made and put together. I used to have it on in the background when I was living in Dublin, as I had no radio to listen to and there was at least one cringeworthy/car crash moment every day. All it does is basically advertise shops/books/cds. Their feature slots are far too short for anything meaningful to come out of them anyway.

Yup, I agree. Quite a convenient way of meeting their home-made quota without big expense. Helps free up their prime time slots for imported drivel.

BBC Breakfast is way better. Ireland AM is grand for the Irish news etc at the top & bottom of the hour but most of the rest of it is awful.

It could be better, but then again, its alot better than RTE's offerings.

RTÉ Radio at the time that Ireland AM is on is much better imo.

Surely "good breakfast television" is an oxymoron? Ireland AM is simply the worst of a pretty crap genre.

TV3 should be done away with, full stop. It's just a really bad ITV, and we all know that that station too is full of s***e. And whoever runs the makeup department should be shot. Why the f**k is everyone on the station orange?

Good breakfast TV? Isn't that an oxymoron? [edit] Sorry zaph, I hadn't read down the thread, grat minds and all that...

Anyways, I've never laid eyes on such sh*te...my god the sets make RTÉ's production department look like Lucasworks, the feckin' gombeens presenting it are downright laughable...almost, but not quite as laughable as their content and material.
Are there actually people like this or who aspire to the "lifestyle" that this show tries to promote?

I had to laugh last night too....flicked past TV3 at about 4am; EPP informs me that the next programme starts at 5am....the Best of Ireland AM. lol
I wonder what was on at 5.01...

No third option in the poll? The only thing watchable on the telly of a morning is the news or the kid's cartoons (and even they're sh*te of late)
