Sky Box won't come out of standby

My partner turned on the skybox tonight and it worked for less than a minute and then turned itself off and there was a click or something. Now it doesn't want to come out of standby. I tried unplugging it for a minute and trying again but it's still stuck in standby.

Does it sound like I'll need a new box?

After pluging back in again I presume you waited about 3 to 5 miutes before before turning on?

Sorry I cannot be any more help! I did a search but can only find a possible cause to your problem. No fix I'm afraid.

Hmm, the click might have been something blowing in the power supply (of the digibox). You're gonna need the box repaired/replaced I think.

I tried updating the firmware there (just to see if the power supply was actually at fault), and it's working, so it's not completely gone.

Nah it's gone. I'll see if I can get my hands on a new one. Cheers lads. :)

Yeah. Bloody thing gave me false hope. :p

I'm not overly surprised, there was a power cut a few days back and I thought I'd gotten away with it when it worked fine yesterday but eh, **** happens. Electronic equipment is rarely happy when it's plugged in when the power gets turned back on.

Aye, powercuts are bad for sensitive electronics.
