Thanks a million for the advice, I will consider army weapons now.
IS the fn2000 legal as I saw it chrono at 370fps with .2g pellets?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,518 ✭✭✭[--SC(+)PE--]

nah it would be illegal, If you were realy set on the gun you could try and get the retailer to downgrade it for ya before shipping. As Lightning says the Jg g36 is a great gun and i can personally vouch for the Jg Aug and the army ak47 aswell.
Any of the guns on your list would appear to be a great choice [not sure about the f2000 though havn't looked into it] Id advise ya to pick whichever ya prefer the look/feel/weight of

    1 x King Arms Tactical Assault Sling-OD USD$17.00
    1 x King Arms M16 120 rounds magazines Box Set (5pcs) USD$27.00
    1 x JLS F2000 BK USD$99.50
    1 x SWAT Hood 1 Hole ( Olive Drab ) USD$8.00
    1 x G & P ACU Series Knee Elbow Pads Set USD$26.00
    1 x G & P OEF Series USMC Goggle (3mm PC Glasses) USD$22.00

This is the kit I'll probably get (the site says the gun is 330fps so I'll believe it)
The total price for the full kit is about 200 euros including shipping.
Well hopefully I can get the money together over the next few weeks.
I could do with a few less mags but they dont sell them individually.
I may need to get a tac vest in future to hold them lol.

Once again any opinions are welcome.

If you can get the MAG midcaps there around 15 US more but you get twice as many.

I kinda like realism so I like the fact I'll have to reload more often, thanks for the opinion it's valued.
I'm kinda worried at how expensive this sport is to get into, I know if I treat the gun well I'll only need to buy a spring occasionally.
I have a good pair of combat trousers with plenty of pockets so hopefully they'll help with mags lol.

The Jls is definatly over and will need to be downgraded.

Invest in a good pair of boots and goggles ehobby on ebay is a good place for cheap gear.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 originalgangsta

Are you sure, I've seen it rated anything from 330 fps to 375fps so I really don't know.

I'll check out ehobby,I have boots, is it worth shipping goggles on their own?

y do u say dollars when tping...just curious

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 originalgangsta

Dollars are the international buying currency, I'd talk in euros if I were buying from Europe.

Its rated at anywhere from over the limit to over the limit. 328 is the limit, that gun is always rated as over. I should know, I was going to buy it at some stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 originalgangsta

Really, I thought the limit was about 350 fps, all the rifles I've listed are 330fps and over so technically you're saying I can't get any of them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 982 ✭✭✭RC car fanatic

no 330 and most of the clones lie about fps

why not go through shiva at eirsoft.ie, at least you know your legal and he is dublin based, he has a great selection of weapons on the site ,wont cost a fortune either

Nope. Anything over 1J or 328Fps you won't be allowed to skirmish it at HRTA. I took the easy road starting out a couple of weeks ago, and went through a dealer here in Ireland. I thought that it would be in their best interest to keep the equipment legal, and if anything goes belly up, they are easier to get in touch with. I have to say, it's a decision I have not regretted as both of the main dealers here are fantastic.

Well you guys were half right at least, it's still probably a lot cheaper for me to get the rifle in from one of these sites even when shipping is added for example

Jing Gong G36c is €130 on eirsoft but $70 on these sites.
I will probably get the goggles and sling from eirsoft though as they are quite cheap.

I am tempted by the army ak 47 for €95 though seeing as it includes battery and charger.
Whats the shipping like with eirsoft as I will need them brought to mayo.

depending on what you get from around E10-19 and you dont have to pay customs either ,have you checked all the hidden costs ,postage from over seas and there is a chance you may have to pay customs to get it in to your hands ,which can be quite high

Well I got a canon eos 350d in from the states this year and I had to pay duty on that, the duty wasn't much considering the cost of the camera, not quite sure now but it was $600-$700.
I've priced shipping with them too and the price is still relatively low.

For me now, seeing as the one I liked most is illegal, I'll probably go for the Jing Gong M4 or the JG G3gc.
I'll still get the hood, elbow and kneepads from cobra if I'm getting the rifle from them otherwise the shipping costs are stupid.
I'll get mags, slings and the goggles from eirsoft.

ITS NOT CHEAPER! If you buy from them mult by 2 for shipping and then add a possible 20% VAT and duty. Almost as dear but without any guarantee! Shipped from RSOV the JG G36C is €108. You'll possibly pay the €22 in vat, ad duty of like €5. Not worth it, especially if something goes wrong.

Ok so assuming I were to go with eirsoft for everything what would you guys recommend most.
The JG G36c is more expensive than the army ak47 but which is more accurate, powerful and durable.
Of all their airsoft aegs what would you guys recommend as a top 5 list.
I ask this cause I'm organising this for my friends too so we want a bit of variation, we don't all want to have the same guns.

    Jg G36 Ftw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 originalgangsta

You just want me to spend all my money :D

I've noticed that a lot of the airsoft rifles and pistols yo guys have dont have the red tips, do the tips come on the eirsoft aegs?
Will I be allowed into proper airsoft games without red tips on my aeg.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,877 ✭✭✭liamo333

Red tips are not requierd by law in ireland.

The JG G36C is supposed to be good, so is the JG Aug. The Dboys M4 variants were having an isssue with power i think but very good with loads of metal. ACM M14 is nice. Cyma ak is decent i hear aswell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 originalgangsta

Thanks a million, one thing I was worried about was their lack on Jing Gong m4s etc, if any of the guys want m4s I think I'll tell them to get them off one of the other sites though, I havren't heard great things about dboy in reviews.
Same with cyma but heck if the stuff is cheap why not.

Cyma work in numberrs, starting off with 001. 001 - 027 are JUNK! 028 on are worthwhile but check with people who have them first. Some of the DBOYs are supposedlt really wothwhile. I know at least one hear has one. COME OUT and give us your opinion.

OG, have you all skirmished before?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 originalgangsta

OG, have you all skirmished before?[/QUOTE]

Nope not any official stuff, I've skirmished with spring pistols and I've done stuff like this before.
I'm also a student so that's why I'm on such a low budget, next year the plan is provided I get a job and that we all really like airsoft that I'll get a uniform etc and maybe upgrade to a tm.

Just starting off myself I have the DBOYs M4 CQBR and the JG G36c. For skirmishing the G36c is superior imho.

    G36C Highlights
    • Not too heavy
    • Mags fit solidly without any wobble
    • 470 round hicaps perform much better than my M4 300 rd hi-caps
    • G36c mags can clip together by design
    • Good rate of fire and range
    • Folding stock means it will fit easily in a sports bag for transport

Have skirmished twice with the G36c and have had zero problems thus far. Got both of my AEGs off eirsoft (plug) ;) great service from Tony.
