Is there any difficulties or problems I should watch out for when connecting a macbook to a tv? My tv is 32" and supports 720p and 1080i and has VGA and HDMI. I heard there can be some problems when connecting computers to tvs.

Go with the VGA and you should be OK. Mac's have autodetection on the VGA output.

Sorry to butt in but I would recomend an Apple mini DVI to DVI adapter and a Dvi to HDMI cable, you'll get a much nicer picture than if your run with VGA

You'll still have to get the Audio out of the Macbook though... HDMI carries Audio but DVI doesn't. Macbooks do have digital out so grab yourself a toslink cable if your reciever supports it or otherwise a phono to rca stero cable should do the trick ;) NB: The audio socket on the MB is analogue and digital.
