I have just booked our flights to vegas in march. I was there in June and only played in the in the MGM $125 buy-in tournament. I saw on the information that non residents will not keep all winnings if they have not completed a form before hand. So my question is whant form is it and where can it be got?
    Thanks

Certain nonresident aliens must obtain an ITIN to claim a tax treaty benefit.

An ITIN is a Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, and can be applied for using a Department of the Treasury Internal Revenue Service form W7 (attached).

Thanks for the info. It looks like a lot of work. I take it that you all fill in one of these each time you go or just the once. The chances of me winning on my next trip would be low but i may play some cash games. Would i need this form for that as well? Not even sure where to start on that form :(

You'd only really need this if you have a big tournament win, like $5k+. I think it is needed for big cash game wins but not if you are just donking around in the typical $1/$2 games while drinking $1 beers and ogling waitresses.

No you need it for any tourney win. Most casinos will help you fill the form out there and then anyway, or you could go to one of the MGM Mirage casinos and get it sorted at the cashier's desk/cardroom (They are more efficient than Harrahs) beforehand.
