Going on holiday here with the rest of my family at the end of the month.
Not my type of holiday, lying on a beach to be honest but just wondering is there anything more to the place than the beach?
    Anything worth seeing?
Otherwise i'll just bring a load of books and chill out...

Wiki Kusadasi and you'll see that it's quite close to heaps of places to visit. All depends on what you want to see. Turkey is full of wonderful and interesting places.

I was there this year for two weeks and i really enjoyed it. It won't be too hot no at this time, when i was there in August it was hitting 40C+ each day and around 25C at night.

You won't find the town as busy in the off season, Kusadasi thrives on tourism and when the low season arrives, some of the restaurant/bar/shopping owners go back home to Istanbul etc. for the winter.

I would recommend Ephesus, it's a lovely place. It's an ancient city from the 10th Century BC, later to become a Roman city. The city is preserved well from the hugh roman amphitheater to the Brothel!

Near Ephesus, is the Temple of Artemis, which is one of the Seven wonder's of the Ancient world. All that stands today is one of the columns because the Christians destroyed it around 350 BC.

If your religious, visit Mary's House which is apparently where she spent the last days of her life, and the springs there have healing powers. It contains one of the first baptising pits in the world. We're not religious at all but it was included in our Ephesus trip so we tagged along.

We did a jeep safari, i found it to be an excellent day, they bring you high into the mountains to see waterfalls, an ancient Byzantine orthodox monastery, caves and a few other places, the views are great.

We also did a horse safari along the coast, the aquapark Adaland, Scuba diving (Was really nice, the water is crystal clear and full of tropical fish), a Turkish night, the Aegean Sea cruise and a trip to Samos which is a Greek Island about 1.5 hours away by ferry. Have a Turkish bath, it's an interesting experience!

We thought the same thing about Kusadasi, that there wouldn't be a whole lot to see but there is plenty to see & do. Hopefully the town will be as alive as it is in the high season, nightlife is great... Enjoy!
