Is there really a difference or should we just standardise it all?? Which do you prefer? (refers mainly to calling a raise..)

    I like a cold cold
I always say 'flat call', but only use it in certain contexts, ie, when describing how a hand played out, I'd say 'flat' called to emphasise the calls importance to that hand.

Other times you wouldn't say it, ie, 'I raised in LP, both blinds called'

You and your wacky threads. :)

Is there a misunderstanding of terminology there? Flat calling is usually just calling a bet. Cold calling has always been used for calling a raise. And the term 'smooth calling' is ghey anyway, and anyone who uses it should be laughed at. A lot.

Commentators seem to say smooth call when the caller's slow playing a huge hand...

Decided to look this one up on Wikipedia:
    flat call
A call, in a situation where one might be expected to raise. Normally I raise with jacks, but with three limpers ahead of me I decided to flat call. Also "smooth call".
    cold call
To call an amount that represents a sum of bets or raises by more than one player. Alice opened for $10, Bob raised another $20, and Carol cold called the $30

I like to execute the little known and underrated bluff-call, personally.

FLATTED is a shocking omission from the poll options. All the top players use that phrase. Im gonna have to choose Atari Jaguar due to you constucting an incomplete poll.
