Just a quick heads up - my username has been changed from The Atheist!
And no - my convictions have not changed along with it. :D

(Dades is what many know me as in Real Life™)

This thread will self destruct in a day or two!

    Exactly why I wanted a change... :)
I wanted to enter a conversation without my theological position so in yer face.

    Nooooooooooooo!
The Atheist and Agnostic forum has lost its atheist!

Sad to see that username go, but you're the boss.

Yes, it's a bit confining, I suppose. Still, it gives me a peculiar and inexplicable sense of loss, for which I imagine there is a German term.

    cordially,

    I disapprove.

Firstly because change not instituted by myself upsets and confuses me.

Secondly because I'm not sure how to pronounce your new name: Day-days, Dad-ees, Daydes...

Soon he will change it to The_Dadaist and he will have fooled us all. One step at a time.

I pronounce it daydes. Because it sounds cool.

Just done a quick check - and all atheists are present and accounted for... :D
Congrats to Tar for (I think) getting the pronunciation right. Think of Dades, as in McDaids!

Scoff - the German term that usually comes to mind first is schadenfreude, but that can't be right...

    Teutonically,
    Dades

Yeah, when I read it I thought your second name must be McDaid.

I can see why - but no. ;)

I now approve of your new name Daisy.

I had presumed it was pronounced 'The Des' (a sort of dublinese shorthand for Desmond) ... which by any standards would have been a resoundingly depressing crash from 'The Atheist'.

Also, despite your clarification that DADES rhymes with, or in fact is the same as, the second syllable in McDaids (!!!!) I refuse to be forced into associating your name with TDs who drive down motorways the wrong way while pissed. I will therefore, pronounce your name as rhyming with 'Hades' ... far more satisfying with just a wicked hint of hellish provocation in it.

Daisy eh? I suppose I could do worse than be called after my feisty, late grandmother (gender difference aside).
