Right this guy asked me out for a drink this morning. He’s cute and in normal circumstances probably my type but I’m out of a two year relationship a few months and not completely over it. Do I take the leap and say yes? Doesn’t feel 100% but first date won’t they tell me. Anyway not sure whether to just bite the bullet and go along. Mumbled something about having to get back to work this morning and said I'd chat to him later.. Cringe!! I'm so out of the loop on this front! Half of me doesn't think I can pull it off yet and the other agrees with all my mates that I should be out there now of all times...

He asked you out for a drink, not a marriage proposal.

There is no commitment there & there never has to be if you're not ready for it.

GO! What have you got to lose. It'll get you out of the house, chatting to someone new & having a few drinks.
Then if that's all you want, just say so, but you never know, he could be SO sweet that you find yourself wanting to go out for a drink with him again.

BUT, just move at your own pace & don't rush into anything you're not ready for.

    It's only a drink, go!
No point wondering what might have been.

    I reckon go for it......

He obviously plucked up the courage to do that (its so hard for us blokes to do this **** and put ourselves in the firing line)

    Do you work together?

Youve to ask yourself would he get in the way of your job?

    Or people gossiping etc....

If this is the case would it be worth it?

If he's in a different area of a big company than id see no problem!

Don't mean 100% in terms of him just not sure if I'm even 50% ready really.. Never been too good at this malarkey!

Well then, how about be straight with him & tell him you're really not sure if you're ready yet.
Suggest him & some of his mates go out with you & some of your mates?

That way there's no 'cosy' pressure & you can get to know him better & then decide whether or not you'd like to go for a drink alone with him?

I still really think you shouldn't let it pass.

What's the worst that can happen? You realise you're not ready & leave it a while longer before you do it again.
Is that such a big deal?

all you are agreeing to do is meet up with him and see if you like each other enough to see each other again. If he reads more into it, thats his problem. Go for it girl!

I say go for it. Let yourself go and have a bit of fun. If you end up dating, and you feel that you're not ready, then tell him. It's as simple as that.

    Dooooooo it!!

from my experience (was in 2 and a half year relationship) its best not to kinda hang around and keep saying i'm not over it, just see how things go, it's only a drink afterall!
