    Hi,

I'm only playing golf for a few months and have only played parklands. I'm playing a links course today (st. annes) and was wondering if I should be aware of anything that is different to parkland?

    Any tips appreciated!

    Thanks, Dave

The ball will travel more (typically) when it hits the fairways and greens on a links.
There are special balls for playing this kind of course also but I wouldn't know what to recommend.

    Enjoy!

Yes, keep your driver in the bag off tees!! St Annes is quite tight and with its proximity to the sea you'd need to be hitting the ball fairly sweetly to be finding the fairway each time, due to the the windy conditions. Sacrifice length for accuracy.

Your best to try more pitch and runs instead of the big lob shot you can often get funny lies in saint annes my advice just take 2 clubs extra and hit it real easy. Better chance of making good contact.
