Working Hours???

Hi guys,
I'm starting a new job next week and have just received my contract. It says that the normal working week is Mon - Fri from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Nothing too unusual there, however it follows by saying. There is a half hour break for lunch.
Am I wrong in thinking that the norm would certainly to be have an hour for lunch? Also, seeing as it says there's only a half hour lunch, I'd surely be entitled to another break or two during the course of the day?? Though it doesn't mention anything about any other breaks in the contract.

By law, you are entitled to a paid 15 minute break every 4 hours of work. 30 minute lunch break seems to be the norm these days.

Half an hour is the required minimum. Also, it is almost always an unpaid break, so if it was an hour break you'd have to work until 18:00. People with an hour for lunch would usually struggle to fill it and prefer the half hour.

Normal hours for me are 9-5.30. We get an hour lunch (unpaid) but I'd prefer 30 mins - if I could leave a little early. It's not an option here though.
