How many cameras do people own here ?

I have the Nikon d50 , and an old olympus bridge -- which i intend to keep .
I have a new expensive panasonic p&s , which i intend to sell or trade in at a better price , for a better panasonic bridge (FZ8) .
I was wondering is 3 cameras overkill !

On the SLR front, 400D, 350D (which im currently loaning out) and an OM1 (probably my fav).
Then an Olympus P&S, small and dinky and a Canon APS which I found in a box recently and got a great kick out of playing with.

    Hmmmm ...

    Nikon F4 ,
    Nikon FE2,
    YashicaMat 124g MF(120) TLR,
    Kodak Box Brownie (1940s)
    Kodak Pocket Autograph (1920s !)
Ricoh Auto Half (clockwork motor drive :D)
    Polaroid sx-70
Polaroid colour swinger (try googling for instructions for THAT with your mother in the same room !)
Fuji s602 (oldy but goody bridge camera, when I bought it the 1G card I got with it cost almost 400 euros )

My FE2 is nice and light so Its my carry around camera for the most part, with a 24mm AIS stuck on the front. The F4 gets dragged around on holidays or if I think I want to do something specific or I need AF. The Yashica is probably the only other one I use the most.

WANTED ... Hasselblad 500 body or variant. Been browsing Ebay for one for quite a while. I plan to outfit it with Arsat lenses and viewfinders|prisms

350D and a Nikon 5200 compact. I had an old Samsung S230 that my parents have inherited but is still going strong.

I also get to play with some really nice cameras in work
    5kHz High Speed 512 x 512 CMOS (100kHz @ 512 x 4)
    Thermal imaging camera
Numerous dual exposure cameras for PIV flow measurement

    Lots of fun. :D

Actually Katie, any chance of getting my 350D manual back sometime?

Guys out of curiosity, why in the world do some of you need so many cameras? If you have a 350D and buy the 400D - why keep the 350D? And if you have a 5D etc, why keep any other?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,624 ✭✭✭✭Fajitas!

I have a 5D, but keep a 300D at home Zascar - It's mainly in case I need two cameras for anything, or something happened to my 5D, or my da is off on holidays - I can pawn that off on him rather than my 5D ;)

The various film bodies I own are mostly just for fun really - Cross processing, alterative printing, darkroom messing about etc.

    To answer the main topic;

    Canon 5D
    Canon 300D

    Canon 1000Fn
    Mamiya 645
    Hasselblad 500CW
    Polaroid One
    Polaroid Job
    Holga
4 other random Lomo cameras that have nearly all broken
    Zenith something or other
