Hi guys i am waiting on delivery of my first laptop and have a question
I currrently have a normal broadband modem from Bt and want to set up a wireless network for the laptop. Is there any way of keeping the home pc connected to the normal modem and getting a wireless router to use with the laptop. This might be a stupid question but your knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks

if ur current modem has a ethernet connection (which it most likely does) you should just be able to connect any wireless router to it and then connect ur pc through a ethernet port on the wireless router.

Yep, ethernet cables look a little bigger than phone cables and have similar connections on them. Just position the router beside the modem ... connect the modem to the wireless router, and the desktop pc to the wireless router with an ethernet cable

If you connect the Desktop PC to the Wireless router using an ethernet cable...that doesnt give you a wireless network?.
