Childrens Picture Books

    Id love to write a childrens picture book but don't know how to go about it.
    I hava an idea and general and know a friend who may be able to illustate it in the way i want but havene a clue where to go from here
    Any help would be very very welcome

    Not easy to break into. As most publishers already have preferred writers they deal with when it comes to picture books.

    Also, you don't need to submit illustrations when pitching a picture book. Sometimes it holds it back. More often than not they'll supply the illustrations.

    Best thing to do is write your book and submit the full story to a relevant agent/publisher. You can get a list of suitable agents/publishers from such books as The Writers and Artists year book.
