I have installed a Technomate 1000 with a 60cm sky dish today for a guy.
The dish obviously is pointed for Hotbird, I have the signal locked up to 100%.
I am able to pick in all the stations accept 2 which are Rete4 & Canale 5. In his other house a few mile away he can view there with no problems. However I have not seen the dish. What could be wrong, different transponder or bigger dish?

    Hi bigpaddy2004,

Looks like there has been a few changes recently with these channels. I also use a Technomate and cannot get them on their original frequencies.

Rete 4 and Canale 5 can now be found on 11919 V 27500. They are only partially free to air and sometimes encrypt in Mediaguard 2.

The version of Rete 4 on this transponder comes up as Rete Quattro on my channel list.

    Hope this helps.

They must of changed transponder so? I was going by a transponder which was in a what satellite mag from August. I was putting in 11.373 for Rete4 & Canele 5. It does not give me a no or bad signal on the screen. signal is 74% when I hit the "ok" button. I will try this tomorrow. Thank you

I have been watching both Rete 4 (Quattro is how you write 4 in Italian) and Canale 5 for the last two years in Castleknock using a 65cm offset dish which I installed myself - first attempt of my life with very primitive tools such as a couple of screw drivers and hands - on a custom made tripod. They haven't changed fequency as far as I know as I doubt my lidlk receiver would bother re-tuning them for me :)
It is true though that the have a good bit of encrypted programs as - same as Rai 1,2 and 3 - they usually only by the rights to broadcast in Italy and do not give a damn of us poor expat! I will check the frequency tonight and post them...my signal is at about 75% but I have a wall 2-3m in front of the dish.
