Has any one here upgraded their m4's battery from 8.4 to 9.6?

    ( I think 8.4 is stock )

How have the internals held out and is the battery slightly larger in size?

Considering doing this myself for rof and dont mind the internals eventually giving out as I'm comfortable replacing them.

Just a general query as to how this sort of thing affects the aeg and whether or not the batt is slightly bigger.

I know there is more strain but in practice, how long did it take for this to take effect.

    Thanks all. :)

I sold someone a DBoys M4 CASv and one of the first things he did was butcher the battery box to take a 9.6v battery (it is bigger, yes - theres an extra cell on it)

Upped the ROF considerably, and its still going strong. This was about 2 months ago. I was actually just talking to him last night, and I'm sure he would have mentioned if there was any problem.

Ok then the issue is if the fore grip will house it now, from memory its big enough.

I hear an ris handgrip though cant take a battery at all. Were I to get one.

i have the dboys m4a1, it runs fine on a 9.6, the foregrip will just about take a 9.6, it's a bit tight but it can be done, there is also a custom 9.6 out there which splits it into two lots of 4 cells that can go either side of the barrel, never tried them but might be worth a look

have a look at the link in my sig for some rate of fire comparisons with different batteries
