    Was considering joining the Raheen toastmasters. Anyone here a member? What is it like etc?

    It doesn't matter who you are, you'll always get a warm welcome from the other members at any Toastmasters club and the crowd in Raheen are particularly friendly. :)
    You can go along and see what it's all about without any obligation to speak or take part.

    i'm guessing where a load of snobs get together to discuss etiquette and such

    Couldn't be further from the truth! (Love the appropriate smiley, though)
    No, TM's is for improving communication skills, especially beneficial in the workplace if you have presentations to give, oversee projects, or even be a better communicator with your workmates.
    Good communication skills leads to improved relationships with family and friends. You've heard he saying "make friends and influence people"? Well TM clubs is where you pick up these skills. Get people to listen to you, do your bidding etc and make them think they are doing you a favour!
    It's great fun too.
