lastminute.com - untrustworthy?

I cancelled a flight booking on the day I made it, September 11th. lastminute.com promised a refund within a few days. They have since continuously pushed back the date of the refund and are now teling me it will be another 7 to 10 working day before I get it. This means about October 24th, nearly six weeks after they took the money from my account. In the meantime my credit card account will be overdrawn. It is for almost €3000. Imagine the interest charges I am going to have to pay.

Has anybody else had this problem and how did you resolve it? Can I get lastminute.com to repay the interest charges?

    Thanks

Maybe have a chat with your card company and see what they say - can't hurt anyway.

Lastminute.com did have a lot of problems a few years back with unsatisfied customers. Ended up with the then owner of the company having to come onto BBC's watchdog to explain herself.

If you canceled it on the day you made it then the money would not have been taken from your card, it would have been held. For some reason it can take longer for this money to become "un held" than it can to do a simple refund. You shouldnt be overdrawn or charged interest as the money is not out of your account. Have you checked your account to see if they money has actually gone anywhere?
