    Meh, tbh....

    Had higher expectations.

    1D for me!

Nothing on FM about it. And that place is rumour city :) Looks sweet though. I just hope that they don't tinker with the sensor too much, the existing 5D gives fantastic files. The RAW's often need practically no adjusting.

I have to say after only buying a 5d I am still a happy bunny even with the upgrade, picture quality is so far ahead of the pack with the original that I need nothing else.

Didnt an FCC filing appear on Engadget.com for a Canon 7D a few weeks agos?

rollin' rollin' rollin' keep that rumour mill rollin'.. rollin' rollin' rollin' RUMOUR MILL!!!!

I'm with Roen on this one.. If they **** up the sensor in whatever replacement comes out, I'll be sick as a parrot. And then I'll buy the 5D instead of the MKII or whatever theyre going to call it.

With so much speculation on the 'new 5D', I'm inclined not to believe anything until I see it.

    Very unimpressive!

If I can get it for the same price as the current 5D
it will do me just fine. (Hong Kong prices of course)

The only thing holding me back before was the FPS,
but now it looks like they have improved that so ...:)

    The 40D has 6.5 fps.
I'd want more than that, if I was looking at the 5D.

5D isn't really directed at the likes of you and me, to be honest, C-E. I know we both occasionally skip out from the sports, but on a day to day basis I know I need the crop factor and the fps.

exactly.. the 5D isn't a sports camera. TBH, I'd get a current 5D and be perfectly happy with 3fps.. In fact, that'd even be overkill for the uses I'd have for a 5D
