Barrys Tea Ad

I'm sure everybody knows about the Barrys Tea ad's of 2004 in which Conor, a footballer, is invited back to the managers house after a match thinking that he is going to be dropped. Instead the tells him, over a nice mug of Barrys Tea, that he is in fact making him captain. The second ad follows on from that, as Conor tells the managers lovely daughter that he has been made captain of the team. She isn't as happy for him as he thought she would be as she would rather him dropped and then he would have a bit more spare time....ooooooooh!

Anyway, I am 422% sure that there is a 3rd ad. I have only seen in once though. It was on E4 during a break in Waynes World on the 24th of September. It was shorter than the previous two and although I cant remember what happened except for the manager and his daughter standing in the doorway as Conor leaves the house...

Can someone please confirm this 'phantom' ad really does exist!?

    Hmmm.
Barry's don't have it on their site, though of course that doesn't mean there wasn't one.

Yep. Father and daughter watch as Conor walks down the drive, father makes a comment about him being a sweet player, horney girley makes a "hmm, very sweet" comment and drools a little.

Yep, I remember that also. Is it possible that that was a bit tagged onto the end of the second ad after the obligatory 'product information' bit..!!??

In the 4th ad, it turns out he's not actually going to captain the GAA team....He's off to Iraq!!!

Those Barrys Tea ads really grind my gears. The worst is that f*cking Christmas one about the train set - horrible, contrived, cringeworthy sh*ite.
And the one with "the gorgeous Gerry" - Gerry opens the door, hands her a few teabags without saying anything, then slams the door in her face. Yep, that's how people act.
    Wow, how realistic.

    Wow, how realistic.
Advertising is about proper and accurate representation of anything now?

Yeah but Barrys Tea is clearly trying to put across the point that these are people "just like us".

Is there an ad archive of all irish tv ads somewhere? If so could you let me know the web address? Thanks

Oh and don't let yourselves be brainwashed by Barrys tea, Lyons tea is the way to go!
