It seems to be a skinned version of http://www.holdemindicator.com/

But fair play to PPP for putting it out with their skin. Nice touch. :)

Agreed, but you could say the same about PT, PAHUD, etc. And I doubt it would be very useful for more experienced players. If you need to use one of these, you don't have much of an edge in the first place.

There is a huge difference, PT and PA are essential, they are quite common at high limits and less common amoung low limits and bad players too,
PPP by making this stuff freeware, and telling everyone about it, they are reducing the edge that other players have.
its also a little unetiquettal from PPPs point of view as not everyskin is providing an equal/fair service

I doubt bad players will use it anyway or heed its advice, theyll still throw away half a stack chasing a flush no matter what the odds, it is handy for those not great at the maths end of things that multitable especially in complicated situations where you dont even have 30 seconds to calculate because of action on other tables. Also similar and exact tools are available for more or less free by signing up through sites that offer these real time calculators when you make a small deposit, anyone playing 50nl or higher would be making the min deposit required for this.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying that people who use PT or PAHUD don't have an edge anyway. But people who need a calculator to work out basic odds, etc, are screwed. I suppose what I'm trying to say, in regards to all 'run-time' software, is that it means that you need as much skill in being able to use the SW properly, as being good at poker itself. It takes a certain purity from the game (if purity could ever be the right word!).

Another thing about this PPP SW: how are things like your EV, etc, calculated? If it's just a calculation of your outs, then it's going to lead to a lot of mistakes by a players who don't understand the underlying concepts anyway.

    what if I play both????
Do I need to install 2 versions of the same programme??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 914 ✭✭✭PPP-Pit Boss

No what I mean is that the calculator that we have supplied is Locked to PPP software. If you play on both you can use the calculator only with PPP. This sofware will not work with Titan.

well PPP offer a free hand odds calculator, other sites offer great incentives such as free clothes or freerolls or rake races. If you want this software pay for it out of those incentives.
