    hi guys
This is going to sound a bit bizarre but I am looking for someone who was in Dublin in the early 70s from America. I cannot see any other reason for someone coming to Dublin then other than studying in TCD (if you can think of any please let me know). I believe this person worked in a health studio also at the time on Georges Street and studied in the states. He studied Health and Fitness or something along those lines
Was there a similar course in TCD at the time and is there anyway of getting records of all American students who studied in TCD from about 1971-1973
    Cheers:o

"I cannot see any other reason for someone coming to Dublin then other than studying in TCD"

Ahem. (Okay considering the economy was in ruins back then, I'll let that one slide. )

It's a long shot, but maybe call/email the student records office? The number/address should be on the TCD site.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound like that, but I really have to find this person and I know they came from the US to Dublin for a couple of years.
I am a true blue and didn't mean to cause any offense
    Thanks for your suggestion:o

I assume you've done the thing by googling his name? He may have a website and/or bebo/myspace/facebooks accounts.

Maybe contact the alumni relations: http://www.tcd.ie/Alumni/contact/index.php

That's a little odd, I doubt a list such as that exists let alone be divulged. Do you not know this person's name? I imagine they will be difficult to find if that is the case.

if you had arranged to meet this guy for a drink, and he never turned up, i think it's safe to say that he's not interested. :)

    Hi
I wish it was that simple, the truth of the matter is I am trying to trace my natural father who was in Dublin in the early 70s and my file states he was working in a health centre and had done 2 years studying same in the states before he came here. He was only 20 at the time so I am assuming he would have finished his studies here while he was working.
There was one health centre (gym) in Dublin at the time called either St. Georges or Moulin Rouge on George St/Dame St.
I don't even know his name thats why I knew it was a long shot

Again a long shot - perhaps contact the College Health Service in order to talk to Dr. Thomas (now retired). He was working in the college health centre for a long long time (exact time escapes me) so it's possible that he might remember the person you're talking about.

How about the Alumni office? They keep records of all past students (as long as you don't tick te box saying don't keep my information). That's assuming he graduated in Trinity though I guess which he (from your post) probably didn't. Good hunting, but maybe you should leave it rest? Surely if he was interested in meeting you it would be a lot easier for him to find you?

Hey trixy, I was in the student records office today to sort out some of my own business, it wasn't very busy so I asked how effective Alumni are at this sort of thing, and the person behind the desk was very positive. Give them a ring/email for sure and see what happens.

I suppose you don't need me to remind you that this is a long shot, but best of luck anyway! Let us know if the search comes up with anything :)
