Firewall to replace Endian

    Hi guys,

    I'm looking at a software server based firewall. I currently use Endian for about a year or so but not too fond if it's shortcomings. I heard there is an equivalant called IPCOP but I don't have a link for it. I'm not looking for the CORE IPCOP but the firewall solution. I believe it's on top of CentOS.

    It's a full firewall suite with content filtering, antivirus etc....

    Anybody know what I'm talking about? Anyone got a link?

    It's nice when I can answer my own question. Ignorgnoring assumptions, I checked out the IPCOP main website. Funnily enough, there it was...

    Happy days and hit me with the silly stick.

    IPCOP is nothing new but requires lots of command line intervention etc on occasion .

    Try using a gui like CopFilter to ease the administration load .

    Woo Hoo. Seeing as you guys replied.... The main drawback of Endian was the need to do a re-install to upgrade [other then pay out wads of cash for the commercial product]. Do either of these other implementations allow for on the fly updates?

    Still investigating myself

    Actually, Smoothwall seems to have come a long way in the past 2 or 3 years. Might give that a go

    The IPCop website came up as the very first result in a Google search for 'ipcop' for me :confused:

    I've used Smoothwall for years, and it's handy. The community forums are good for unofficial hacks and add-ons.
