    Too early to get excited I'm afraid :(
    It's been known for a couple of years that the EU were going to review crash barrier standards, and take motorcycle safety into account for the first time. It's rumoured that this is the reason that the NRA rolled out wire rope as quickly as they could once they got started.
    Once it's in, it's in and can stay there. I'd have to say the chances of the Irish government voluntarily removing wire rope they only installed a few years earlier are slim to none. MAG Ireland made all the safety arguments to them before any of it was installed, but they didn't care.

    In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.
