Using a Laptop Monitor as Screen For Console

    Hey all

I've just moved into a new house with 2 other people. I've my Xbox 360 set up in the main room, but planning on playing gratuitous amounts of Halo 3, so was hoping to set it up in my room

Now I have a HP laptop with a VGA out (I think), so I'm figuring that I'd need to buy some USB related piece of kit to connect the Xbox, if its possible at all

    Any suggestions?

The only way I can think of getting the Xbox to output to the laptop's screen would be to use some kind of USB TV card, but that's probably going to give you ****e quality.

You don't have a PC monitor handy do you? I use my 360 with a 20" widescreen PC monitor over the Xbox VGA cable and it looks great.

Yeah only way I can think of is a USB/Fireware/PCMCIA/whatever TV capture card, but they're not great for gaming TBH (doesn't look as good as on a CRT, there may be a delay in video, de-interlacing etc.). There may be HD capture cards around now but they're probably expensive. Laptops never have any direct video input into the display.
