Have any other boardies left drool marks on the window of Park motors ?

The R8 looks much better in real life than it does in photos I must say - a proper supercar.

    Wonder who bought that one?

They had a sheet over it for AGES I wasn't sure what it was til I thought about what sort of car they would cover up...

I sat into the one in Audi in Limerick and it is just such a beautiful car.

Saw an ad for this on the box the other night and a fleeting glance at on on Top Gear.............mmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ I want one!!

Anyone know if the R8 was reviewed on TG last season? Be interesting to see the Stig take it around the track.

It features in this new series of TG.

The R8 TV ad is quite good actually, made me sit up and watch it anyway, a bit like the A5 TV ad or the BMW one.

AFAIK 08s allocation of the R8 is booked out for both Ireland and the UK.

I can't wait to see it in next weeks Top Gear, it is a stunning looking car both inside and out.

Was in Park Motors a few weeks ago for an Audi VIP evening.

They were unveiling the R8 and had a host of other hot cars there, S5, RS4's and an S6 avant.

R8 was stunning, it's so squat and mean looking in real life. Not the colour I would pick though, and I would have to have the side blades in carbon.

If you want all the black plastic replaced with carbon fibre in the engine bay, it's a 5,000 euro option :D

Wonder who they will be able to rely on to get it serviced - MSL ?

    :)

does nothing for me I'm afraid, I'd much prefer a few year old ferenghi 360 than a new R8

Frank Hogan in Limerick has one in his showroom. Have seen it on the road too.

Are they only made in the one colour?

I've seen one in Meteor grey sorta colour - it was in Mondello for the Audi experience.

    Absolutely.

As for those of you waiting to see it on Top Gear - you might be better off and buying a magazine and getting a real opinion on it.

TG is entertainment - a car mag is infotainment.

Clarkson once admitted to flaming the Peugeot 306 on TG while the next day it was in his news paper column as a shining example of how great modern family hatches were.
