I'm a coming, only I don't know how to get there.
    Which ground is this?
I'm getting the train into town after college. What bus number is it etc?
Will anyone be getting the bus that I can piggy back with?

Lepo, the ground is Three Rock.

What time will you be getting into town at?

I think it's the number 16 Bus, which you can get on at Dame Street or Georges St.

Or, if you get the train to Drumcondra, you can get on it there.

I'll probaly get int town at about 7.30 or so. I suppose I'll just tell the driver where I'm going and ask for him to give me a shout when we get there.

The one and only time I got the bus to Three Rock the driver didn't know where I was talking about.

BE sure to ask for Three Rock Rovers Hockey Ground.

    It's beside Marlay Park.

Get the bus from Drumcondra. It's slightly quicker than heading into town and getting it there. I'm coming over on the 16 from DCU so might see you on it. Probably getting an earlier train though

Get the bus on the side of the road OPPOSITE the train station.

This is the Drumcondra road into town, and then over to Rathfarnham.

    leixlipred is Martin.

Text me when you're on the way to the match, just so I know you are ok.

    If I don't hear from you by 8.30 I'll send a search party :D

    Boards 2 Ravenhill 0

i think that puts us 3rd in the table after 3 rounds of games. not a bad start and i think we have already played the best team in it. tonights game, saw us take the lead after about 10 minutes, a smart goal from Jules after an assist(free kick) from Ed. Sav got the second just before half time after a long kick from Karl was headed on by Jules. another case of a win is a win, we didnt play great but they had very little in line of chances and karl had only 1 save to make in the whole game.

    some stats -

    * This time last season, we had played 3, lost 2, drew 1 and conceded 16.

    * In our last 6 league games we have won 5, keeping 4 clean sheets and only conceding 3 goals.

    * We have scored in all 6 games, totalling 14 goals altogether.

so while it wasnt pretty, it doesnt need to be and everybody got stuck in. lets keep it going.

That's the second game in a row we've won by that scoreline and in that manner, although they were a decent side tonight.
I don't think we can really say we played well, and our goals were more of a sucker punch than a well worked move but if its a choice between playing well and losing or playing badly and winning....well that's a no brainer.

That said, we weren't exactly played off the park either.

Even though we didnt play as well as we can, I think that has to go down as a great result. Sometimes you have to grind out results and I think this was one of those.

I told Des before the game that I was fit, I now realise that I was fit in comparison to my pisshead friends who drink too much.

    I'm off for a run.

In fairness, they had a couple of good ball players who knew what they were at so when we're chasing space it's easy to tire out. That's kinda the idea.

So I wouldn't beat yourself up over that particular game, just dont confuse fitness with sharpness. I know loadsa fit guys who couldnt kick snow off a rope and by comparison I know quite a few unfit players who get by because their touch is good and they've got the mental sharpness.

    Work smart, not hard :)

Good result lads, and yeh good work ethic all round, first game since I began my training regime for the Challenger World event that my shins let me do a lot of chasing and it felt good, and I noticed plenty of our players doing great chasing, even at 2-0 with 5 minutes to go - keep that attitude and we'll keep heading in the right direction.

We won more of our own kickouts than before which is good, though it needs to be a central midfielder winning them more often.

As has been said, we played well within ourselves but were good for the win as I think we were definitely the better side. They never threatened in the final third, and it was due to us sitting too deep in first half that they looked good playing it across the back and into the 2nd third of the pitch.

Tighter game second half with us pressing more and dealing with the pressure they naturally went for quite well. We always looked a threat going forward and were trying the right things up front and were not far off taking another chance or two.

Interesting stats there, Statto. The 4 clean sheets means credit to the keeper and defence, and I'm confident we can score against any team in this league, so it's not a bad outlook at all at all if we keep pushing hard.

nice work guys, good to see another win. See you at training on sat

Just glancing at the league table there, we're currently in 4th place, 3pts behind the leaders Fred West Ham. You may remember FWH beat us 2-1 in the opening game but they were no great shakes and that result had more to do with us not being at the races than getting outplayed.

Kudos to the defence & GK, we look very solid back there.
