Early yesterday morning in Gougane Barra, West Cork as the mist was rising from the lake. The quotation is from a commemorative plaque at the entrance to the shrine. The "him" of course was Saint Finbarr who founded a hermitage here in the 6th Century and who went on to found the city of Cork. Canon 5D, Canon 17-40L.

I was there myself the other day, same camera and same lens :) All I can say is that the weather makes some difference.
I had the green boat in my sights as a bit of foreground interest but nature called and I had to run like hell and pray the jacks were open. (Praise the lord, they were!)

By the time I got back the light had changed utterly and I felt what I had seen was gone.
I'll look at your pic instead so and think about what I could have got. Cheers!

    I'd have to agree.

I think the words would be better placed off image really.
