Apparently, the Northern European Championships in men's and women's gymnastics were held over the weekend in Dublin. The results are posted at www.irishgymnastics.ie
Ireland finished 9th in the men's competition and 8th in the women's competition. None of the Irish gymnasts made finals, but one of the Northern Irish gymnasts, Matthew Cosgrave, won gold medals on two events, pommel horse and floor exercise. Cosgrave represents the Republic of Ireland in world competition. Cosgrave beat out Daniel Keatings, representing Scotland (Keatings represents Great Britain in world competition), who was a finalist at the world championships earlier this year on pommels.
    Not bad for Cosgrave!
