    Hi folks,

I'm filming a short sketch set during the Irish war of independence and I'm looking for some replica fire-arms that'll look vaguely authentic. Do you know where I could get some at short notice (somewhere in ireland) to hire (for cheapish) or to borrow?

    Thanks a million

    Patrick

i suspect you will find it very difficult to get post ww1 equipment in airsoft, its very hard to get and what is available is very expensive, so for example a lee enfield rifle cost around 600 sterling.

also using the word guns, is a bit of a no-no around these parts and the last thread on this descending into a fairly nasty shouting match...

you could try the real steel shooting forum, they might be able to help

Indeed your best bet would not be this forum or just speak to a replica retailer.
Airsoft have neither guns or replica guns.

The Military board may be of more help than the shooting board

The re-enactors may hang out there more so than the shooting board.

As there are already WWI and WWII re-enactors here in Ireland
they got a all the gear and de-activated or safe props.

The shooting boardwould be more for actual fireing firearms,
and would probably not be suited for use in a film.
