I notice a few posters have bought the new Canon 40D and was wondering what you think of it so far? Any bad points to be aware of? I'm currently using a 300D so I'd imagine this would be a significant jump in terms of performance and features. Also, I am thinking of replacing the old 18-55 kit lens with either a 24-70L…

I'm currently using a 300D so I'd imagine this would be a significant jump in terms of performance and features.

Also, I am thinking of replacing the old 18-55 kit lens with either a 24-70L f/2.8 or 17-55IS f/2.8 lens for walk-around, weddings and indoors use. Which would you recommend?
