As the title says Amir Khan is fighting tonight on ITV1 , defending his Commonwealth Lightweight title against Scott Lawton who went 7 with British champion Jon Thaxton last time out before being clocked hard and stopped on his feet .

Lawton is very game and reasonably skilled but he lacks a punch and can be a bit open against someone of a similar stature to him . Khan should be able to take care of him before half way and look forward towards a fight with Graham Earl or Jon Thaxton .

Thaxton successfully defended his British title last night stopping Dave Stewart in the 12th round in a fight much harder than most expected and harder than Thaxton should of made it for himself . This fight was also an eliminator for the Commonwealth title and Thaxton is now mandatory , in the past it looked as if Frank Warren would of wanted Khan going nowhere near Jonno but may think differently after last night . Despite that I'd fancy Thaxton to stop Khan should they meet in the next year .

Also on the bill tonight is Bradley Pryce defending his Commonwealth Light-Middleweight title against Martin Concepcion . Both are always in exciting fights and although Concepcion may have the slight edge in power he is not as skilled nor has he as a good chin and I fancy Pryce to get the job done around round 5/6 .

A good competitive fight on the card is Femi Fehintola(former British Super Featherweight title challenger) v Steven Bell(central area Super Featherweight champ) , this is for the vacant English Super Featherweight title . I think Bell's better punch(although not devastating) will be enough to pull him through and win a close fight .

Also on the bill are prospects Kell Brook and Don Broadhurst , aswell as the debut of very good amateur Tony Bellew .

Coverage starts on ITV at 22:00 , expect them to show all of the Khan and Pryce fights but only limited highlights of the rest .

Didn't get to see the fight as I was in Wateford and NO UTV:(
So Khan did the business. I expected it. His opponent was not
known as a puncher, though neither was Limond.
Khan is a magnificent offensive fighter, If he tightens up
his defence, which I was told he did the other night, then
he gives himself a great opportunity to be the best in the world.
Hopefully his CHIN will prove sturdy over the next couple of years...

So Khan has tightened up his defense, let see how good it is against a fighter like Thaxton who can punch. Limond if he had any punching power would have finished him off...
